Women of Faith Conference

Adam had planned some time back to fish in his first salt water tournament this past weekend in Florida. I always try to come up with something neat for the girls and I to do while he is away... Last Saturday I got a call from a friend from church that there were 2 tickets to go to the Women of Faith in Atlanta this past weekend. This first thing that ran through my mind was how much is it gonna cost.... I mean Adam is out of town, he and I are going away in two weekends and so on and so on. She went on to tell me that they were already paid for and the hotel was paid for and it included the food... HOW COULD I SAY NO??? So I agreed to go! Then after I hung up the phone I thought about the girls.. I called my mom who was at the beach with a friend of hers and she agreed to keep the girls while Adam and I were both away. SO I am super excited baout going and Monday morning rolls around. This is our busy time at work... end of contracts, new contracts, year end, financials, new building, the list goes on and on and on... SO I sent my boss and email about this weekend and she agreed that I could have the time off and this was a great thing for me to go to. So Friday finally got here. I had to come in to work that day because it was pay day and make sure that there were no problems before I headed out fo town. Everything was fine so I went home to get my things and went by to pick up Amanda and off we went to Atlanta. We had a great time all the way there, had no idea where we were headed but we made it there with only one slight detour through the suburbs! I did stop and ask for directions! We left at 2 and made it there around 3:45 and got lost, so I must brag and say that we made great time! We got our meal box and headed to our room before the conference began. We went over to Phillips Arena and were truely blessed beyond belief! Friday night we got to hear Mandisa and this little lady that was the best speaker, Patsy Clairmont. Patsy encouraged each of us to find a firefly! We heard Anita Renfore who is fmaous for the mom song, look it up on youtube... it is hilarious! I laughed so hard at her! Then we got to hear Steven Curtis Chapman sing and tell his amazing story! He made the whole weekend worth it! The next day we got to hear a bunch of great ladies speak again... Marilyn Meberg, Luci Swindoll, Shelia Walsh and Lisa welchel. Lisa was from the Facts of Life and truely had an amazing story to tell! The best thing I heard that day was Mandisa, she was awesome! I left Atlanta in a hurry to get my babies and make it to church... I left Atlanta definitely changed! I had a great weekend away, but most importantly I made some really good christian friends. And those are the kind that are very hard to come by. I also realized who my firefly was...

Here is a clip of Anita Renfroe:

Here is a clip from Mandisa:

I wish I could post it all on here!!!

What A Weekend!!!!

What a wonderful weekend we had!
Friday after Adam and i got off work we took the girls to stay the night with my mom. Adam had been asked to speak at a College age overnight conference at Pine Eden in Pine Mountain. On our way there we got the priviledge to eat dinner with Siran Stacy. We met Siran and brother Ray at Jason's Deli for a meal. Adam and Siran really hit if off.... It was hilarious! Ray and I sat back while the two of them just talked and talked and talked.... We were truly touched by him and his genuine love for God. He said something to me and Adam that night that has truly touched me..... He told us that he had a 6 figure salary and everything you could want in life. And none of that mattered, if he could have just spent more time with his family he would have gladly given it all up. He lost 5 of his loved ones in one second. He lost his wife, 3 daughters and a son. Adam asked him when he felt the call into ministry and he told us that he felt it long before this and never acted on it. After this tragedy happened to him he really just didn't care! He didn't have to have all of the worldly things. He is an AMAZING man of GOD and really does not care what you think of him. After we left dinner Adam and I talked on the way to Pine Mountain and Adam said I would love to have what he has, but not in the way he got it. It was awesome! He spoke to the college group when we arrived at Pine Eden along with Brother Ray and it was amazing! We got to sleep in seperate areas that night. Adam slept with all of the guys and I slept with all of the girls. Saturday morning we heard from Lance Lee, he is from Phenix City and told the group of his story. He had a wreck when he was drinking and driving. His story also touched me. The thing he said that really got to me was that we complain about so much every day... When the things we complain about some people are just lucky to have! Adam then spoke before the conference wrapped up and spoke on being BOLD. I know that there are some things that I need to work on in my Christian walk, but I am going to strive to be a BOLD christian.
We came home a rested before we had to go back to church Saturday night. Golden Acres began their Saturday night services this week. We have the same service Saturday night that we have on Sunday monring. This is being done to make room for more people because we have run out of room on Sunday. We went to service and started our 40 days of Love study. We are as a church doing the devotional book "THe Relationship Principles of Jesus" . The devotions begin tomorrow and I am excited. Ray spoke to us Saturday night about loving God with all your heart. What a great way to start the 40 days! We then started our new small group. Adam is leading one of the small groups on Saturday nights after service. This is called a small group because you can't really call it Sunday school when we don't meet on Sundays! We had a great time! There were a lot of people there and everyone was so excited about it too. Everyone introduced themselves and Adam did a short study on the sermon that Ray preached. The small groups will talk in more detail and on a more intmate level about what Ray preaches about during the 40 days. We had a good time and I can't wait until next week. I urge you if you don't attend church or if you go to Golden Acres and you are not plugged into a small group. Come with us next Saturday night! Oh by the way Ray will be letting Adam preach next weekend. Adam is preaching on Love your God with all your Soul. I can't wait!
Today me and the girls slept in. This was great not having to get up for church. We enjoyed our morning at home. Adam drove up north of Atlanta to pick up his boat. I must admit I am kind of excited about putting it in the water for a ride ;) I did a little bit of school shopping this afternoon and then we took the girls to their first night of Awana! I know this was a bit ling but I felt that I needed to share our weekend with you!

4th of July Trip to the Coast

This Fourth of July, Me and Adam and the girls took a much needed break and headed to the coast! We vacationed this week in St. George Island! What a beautiful place!

We ate a the famous Boss Oyster and sat on the bay and watched the sea gulls trying to attack us to get food!

The beach was amazing! We enjoyed playing in the sand...

Eating Ice Cream and just relaxing!

We enjoyed the pool too!

We took Drew Parkman's boat out for a boat ride

We ventured to an island and found BIG shells and walked around. The girls thought is was absolutely amazing!

The boat ride back put Tillery to sleep.

We ate that night at the "World Famous" Bay City Restaurant. I will have to say they have some really good food! As we were going in to eat we ran in to Libby Parkman.

We ended a wonderful day with a nice walk along the beach!

We enjoyed the Fourth of July with a great pancake breakfast at a local restaurant on the island and the annual St. George parade. All of the locals pile up in trucks and boats and soak everyone watching the parade with water guns. We have enjoyed this Fourth of July tradition for 2 years and the girls love it!

We spent the rest of the day enjoying the pool and the beach and called in supper from another local restaurant that was right next door and topped the evening off with fireworks that were shot on the beach right behind where we were staying.

We enjoyed our days at the beach and look forward to our annual Fourth of July vacation next year!

HAPPY NEWS!!!!!

Just wanted to share with you all a few upcoming things!!! This weekend the girls are having their dance recital... If any of you family out there would like to come and have not gotten your tickets yet... LET ME KNOW ASAP!!!! They told us last night that the tickets are about gone because the auditorium is about at capacity. It will begin Saturday night at 5:30 and the doors open at 5:00. The girls are excited to show off their talents that they have learned this year. It will be a night of the 1980's... all of the dances are to 80's music! Tillery is dancing to Don't Worry Be Happy and tapping to another cute song ( I forgot the name). Taylor will be doing her hip hop dance to Witch Doctor, her ballet is to Daydream Believer and her tap is the last number before the finale and it is to Were Not Going To Take It. I will post the pictures as soon as I can for those of you who can't make it this weekend!

The other news is that Taylor will be baptized this Sunday morning at 10:30... My mom will be there early ( I hope ) to save some seats, Adam and I will be participating in the baptism with Taylor. Please if you are coming come early! There have been a few Sunday's lately where they have had to break out the chairs in the 10:30 service, so just call one of us and let us know if you are coming so we can save a few places. This is a very special day for Taylor and we hope that you all can make it. For those of you that will not be able to come we will get a copy on DVD for you to watch later.

contemplating.....

As I sit here playing on the computer, it is raining pretty good outside. I am just trying to decide what to do about Taylor's birthday party... We planned a big pool party and now I have no idea what to do... Do we cancel and move it somewhere else?? Do we let them swim in the cold rain?? Do we have it inside all cramped up with nothing to do??

What to do??? What to do?? Well I have a few hours to decide!!!!

Planning for the Birthday Party!!!

Can you believe that my Taylor is about to turn 7. Where has seven years gone???

We will be having her birthday party events next week! We will be having High School Musical cupcakes at school on Thursday and going to her favorite place to eat Thursday night. She has informed us that it will be ShoGun. She is having a sleepover Friday night and her 7th Birthday Bash on Saturday. The theme this year!

Scooby Doo! This is Taylor's favorite show! Decorations were a little hard to come by this year ;)

We started a tradition a year or so ago with a trip to the American Girl Boutique in Alpharetta so this will also be in the next weeks ahead!
My pocketbook will be feeling a bit lighter....
