Quick Trip

Saturday night after church... Adam and a couple of his friends decided to take a quick trip to the shore for some fishing. They packed up the truck Saturday afternoon and planned to leave right after church Saturday night. Adam loaded his clothes, rods and scuba gear ( YES I did say scuba gear... I call him Scuba Steve! It is too funny). Right after church Adam, Bryan and Drew T headed to Appalachicola for a quick trip to fish. Arriving in Florida around 2 the boys got a few hours of rest before waking up to a little work. Jimmy the owner of Bay City needed a tree cut down.

Please notice there are 2 pictures of the tree.. It was too large to capture in one picture. I am guessing they were asked to help out again since they have done it before....

YES!!! That little bity thing in the tree with the orange shirt on would be my large husband! This is from before. I don't have a picture of him in the tree this time but I do have a pic of him after finishing the job.

After work then the boys got to play! A little scuba diving and fishing.... Here is a pic of Bryan with his monster fish... I have heard that the only thing Adam caught on the boat was a few zzzzzz's....

Arriving home late Sunday evening, I heard that these quickie fishing trips may become frequent. ;)

Special Day!

Today is a special day for our family.. Tonight at 6:30 Adam will be ordained and licensed into the ministry. This makes it official! Our journey began several years ago and it has been amazing. We invite all of our friends and family to join us at Golden Acres. Pictures to follow!

Tillery's Ladybug Party!!!

As much as we enjoyed playing softball this season we enjoyed the fact that one of the girl's season was over. Being at the ball field four days a week was rough and many times both Tillery and Taylor played at the same time.... We finished Tillery's season this Saturday and she did good this year. After her final game at 10:00 we went to the skate center in Phenix City for the end of the season party ....

Tillery enjoyed skating...

The whole team did...

They also enjoyed singing Party in the USA...

Taylor and Bre enjoyed playing together..

Time to give out trophies...

Coach Adam giving out the other coaches plaques..

Tillery receiving her trophy..

The team, the coaches and their trophies!

Home Sweet Home...

I guess as you all know... The guys made it home safely! I have a ton of pictures that I will be uploading as soon as I can. Adam got home after 9 Monday night. The girls were sooo excited to see him and I was too. He came in and showed us a ton of pictures and gave the girls all of the gifts he had brought back... he brought them back some Mexican candy. I took 3 years of Spanish and couldn't read all of it, but he busted open a lollipop and handed it to Taylor. She started saying gross it burns, it burns... Well I read the what I could on the label and it was a mango flavored lollipop with chili season... YUCK!!! He had no idea what he bought ;) As for you that have been praying for safety and the men... THANK YOU!

Mexican Starbucks... well sort of....

Okay so I was wrong in a previous post... The guy that I said was the driver was actually the cook and this pic is of their driver...

We talked to Adam last night and everyone is fine and doing well. Last night the men did a little shopping after work. I can't wait to see what Adam bought. Let me tell you shopping is not what he is good at ;)
At home:
Tomorrow we have a big day! Both Tillery and Taylor have ball games so if any of you would like to come out and support them please do! Go Lady Bugs! (Thankfully they both have the same team name this year! So I can wear one shirt all day! :) ) Taylor got her report card yesterday and she received all A's.... YAY TAYLOR!!! We are tired and miss Adam.... and ready for the men to return home safely!

Tuesday

A van full of white men were pulled over and checked for passports...

Here are a few pics of the place that the guys are working....

Adam said that yesterday was a good day overall. Adam fell yesterday from the roof. He said that he banged up his ankle and hip pretty bad. Thankfully and unthankfully he said that Danny Arnold was standing underneath him. What he said happened was that he was leaning over on a beam and it was rotten and broke and he fell face first from about 8 feet or so. He said his nose hit the back of Danny's head which was the bad part for Danny but thankfully he was there so adam didn't nose dive into the concrete. This morning he said he was little sore but okay. He sent a couple of pictures of his ankle but I can't get them to copy to my computer. So I will try to upload them later.

AMEN

Just wanted to let you know that the men have their luggage...

MISSION UPDATE FROM MONDAY 15TH

We talked to Adam last night and again this morning. All is well other than the fact that they have no luggage. The airline has promised that this will be delivered today. He said that they flew in to Mexico City. He said that it was disgusting. He literally said that it smelled like urine and that trash was piled up in mountains along the streets. He said that they took the "Mystery Machine"

to Taluncingo by their new friend.. I am not sure if I am spelling this right but he told me that his name is Louis..<>

He said that he drives REALLY fast and that there are no stop signs. So everyone is just going fast everywhere.

Here are a couple of pics in the streets where they are staying...<><>

He said they had a great dinner... Well he said it was good but they were all starving and tired.<>

<>

For those of you who watch Cake Boss... Adam said this was the Mexican version!

He said the hotel was okay. There is no air condition or heater. He said it is like a real nice Boone's motel. They are right on the street so they can hear everything. There is a courtyard in the middle of the hotel and that all the birds in the city gather there ;)

<>On the homefront:
Tillery had her first game last night. She lost interest in it a few times. We didn't win but we did good. It is always fun watching that age play. It was freezing but fun. Taylor had practice and is getting ready for her opening day this weekend. Tillery had to be picked up this morning from school and is sick (throwing up), so she is with my mom today. The girls read their letter from Adam last night and miss him.
